This pot, crafted on a potter's wheel, was then entirely hand-carved and oxidized in the hollows to give greater depth to the night sky and volume to the clouds. Having been fired at a higher-than-average temperature (1270°C - 2318°F), when viewed directly from above, it is not perfectly circular.
