Mishima namako clouds pot
Stoneware pot with clouds engraved using the Mishima technique (engraving a design into clay, filling it with a contrasting engobe, and then removing the excess, leaving the color embedded in the engravings). This glaze reacts with the color of the clay it covers, so it turns blue on red clay and silvery white on light clay. Having been fired at just under 1300°C (2,372°F), it has undergone slight deformation, so when viewed straight from above, it is not perfectly round.
EG - 2022
Measures: Ø 16 x 5 cm
Ø 6.3 x 1.97 in.
