Bonsai pot for a semi-cascade style (han kengai) depicting waves in the sea. The waves are carved into the pot and splash over the oblique bands of cobalt blue celadon glaze. The inspiration comes also from ancient Seto ware, which often used these strong contrasts between blue and white with natural and geometric figures in relief.
