The idea was to depict a dragon awakening and emerging from a cave on the side of a mountain. I wanted the dragon to convey a sense of freedom, ready to soar. The dragon's head was sculpted by hand, hair by hair, tooth by tooth, and then attached to the vase. The rest of the body was created in the same way. I used two different clays to enhance the contrast. If the dragon seems a little skinny, it's because it's hungry and ready to hunt.
